Framed White Roses

My goal with this series is to replicate the unique beauty of blooming flowers with such detail they no longer remind viewers of glass, but of the emotions that come from catching a real flower in full bloom. All while maintaining that perfect bloom indefinitely. Plants have a way of brightening our surroundings, unfortunately their beauty tends to wax and wayne over time. This series is my attempt to freeze a moment in time, to preserve its beauty to enjoy time and time again.

Hand sculpted from borosilicate glass, each and every petal and leaf is blown individually before being constructed into a complete rose. Each rose is then mounted to a geometric bed of glass leaves, creating the final arrangement, and solidifying dozens of individually blown parts into one piece of solid glass. Using four attachment points discretely positioned around the black bass, the glass arrangement is permanently secured to the hand made solid wood frame.

I believe the human consciousness connects us all, and the actions we take in this life echo through each other whether we want them to or not. With that in mind I have chosen to devote my life to creating visual art in the hopes it makes a positive impact on the world around us. If each of my pieces can spark a conversation, or inspire someone to make a change, or even brings out a single smile it was all worth while. While I hope my art lives on long after I’m gone it’s not about being remembered, it’s about continuing to encourage the positive aspects of the human experience that I feel are most important.
